Re: Barcode scanner (USB) on tablet
Not sure if the firmware on this scanner also works with Android, but they appear to have addressed the issue with iOS by means of "double-clicking" the power button the handheld wireless scanner. A double-click on the scanner will toggle the input on the app between the scanner and the screen-based...

Re: Meeting: Feb 7, Pasadena
I'll be there. Wouldn't miss a hash-out on the whole open-sourcing of LiveCode issue. I think that this is a big enough topic! I have to say that my initial reaction is "Awesome!" My next immediate reaction is... "OK, I just plunked down a nice chunk of change to be a paid user of LiveCode and now y...

Re: Meeting: Dec. 1 in Pasadena
Sorry guys with the crazy weather my wife would kill me if I went out tonight! My neighborhood looks like a tornado came through it so the family will want me around in case something particularly dicey happens. I definitely plan on being a "regular" attendee so count me in for the 1st Thursday of n...

Interested in Meeting? Also questions regarding licenses...
Figured I'd hit the list one more time. There are a lot of new exciting announcements (the new version 5.0, etc.) and was wondering if anyone wanted to get together? Had a great time at the meetings so hoping we can get together again. I can try and find a location here at the Warner Bros. lot in Bu...

Wow, I really appreciate this insight. I agree with you regarding Flash. There's a funny story there actually. I was attending a MacWorld Conference when I strolled over to an area with small booths dedicated mostly to products aimed at teachers. There was a very small booth from a small company in ...

Thank you for your replies
I appreciate those who weighed in. This really helped me make my decision and I will purchase Run Rev. I have worked in a number of platforms that, as you said, came and went (including HyperCard) but none really were as productive for me as HyperCard (with a bunch of cool add-ons) was. In fact, I a...

Longevity of Runtime Revolution as a platform
Sorry but just a simple question. I have used a number of RAD environments in the past, loved working with HyperCard, and would like to get back into it. Do you see Runtime Revolution as having the "legs" to stick it out and remain a viable development platform for years to come? Loaded question but...
