LiveCode is going Open Source!

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1755283828/open-source-edition-of-livecode What do you guys thinks about this? From what I can see I think it's a good thing in the long run but it sure hurts knowing the I paid for the most expensive package just a couple of months ago. Here's hoping the best for...

Re: List of iOS Apps Created with LiveCode Inspiration Threa

Good stuff everyone. This thread is turning out to be beyond what I had expected.

As for me, I am continuing to piece together my app during whatever spare time I get. When done, I hope to add my own to this list :D

Cheers!

Plans for 2013 with LiveCode

Most of you may have anticipated a new year thread popping up, so in true form I will ask it. Now is the time to socially commit yourself and let everyone know. What are your app plans for 2013 using LiveCode? I'll start. I would like to create a simple app with LIveCode and post it the app store an...

Re: LiveCode vs. Web

What's your time worth? Are you doing this as a professional or a hobbyist? If you can easily navigate all those frameworks and APIs and have the time to learn all of them proficiently then it may serve you well to go the coffee script route. Don't get caught up in the tech. Figure out what you are ...

Re: MobGUI displays message every time app runs

You may want to ask you support questions at the mobgui site as well.

There was a long thread about mobgui support:

Re: How many livecode developers are there?

I think the question they are asking is: "What happens if you fall out a window onto an exploding bus, who will back you up?" I'm game! :) Simon The force is strong in this one :D More on the story...at this point, it doesn't matter to me, I've gone ahead and made the purchase myself and the bean c...

Re: Is mobGUI still supported?

Gagzooks! This thread still lives.

I think it's clear developer is MIA in his own product forum and according to Mark, the best way is to e-mail support questions via the mobGUI web site.

How many livecode developers are there?

I am pitching the use of Livecode and I got asked how many developers there are for Livecode.

Anyone know? Is it hundreds? Thousands? Tens of thousands? Over 50k users?

The bean counters would like to know and it would help grease the wheels of progress.

(That's enviro-friendly grease btw)

Re: Is mobGUI still supported?

I was going to write something in reply to Mark but it appears FourthWord has eloquently said what I was thinking.

Hope all is well with the mobGUI developer and trust he'll continue improving it. It really is a useful plugin.

Re: Is mobGUI still supported?

Jacque, That's a very bad and wrong assumption. Usually, support can be acquired at the product website, not at some kind of forum that's not maintained by the company responsible for that software. Even RunRev doesn't provide support through this forum and the mailing list. Kind regards, Mark @Mar...

Re: Is mobGUI still supported?

Hi, I wrote to the developer and got a very quick reply. He tells me he answers support requests on a daily basis and I believe him. Clearly, the answer to the subject line of this thread is a sound "yes". If you didn't get a reply from him, I suggest you give him a week before you try again and if...

Re: Is mobGUI still supported?

@Marek, Thank you for posting your experience that it's working well for you. The problems I've had can most likely be attributed to the fact that I am still very new to LC and RR. However, it would increase confidence in the product *if* an acknowledgement for customers such as myself were granted ...

Re: Is mobGUI still supported?

I've purchased mobGUI and getting a bit nervous. Just wondering, so is this the MO of developers around here? I'm asking because I'm new and decloaked just a few weeks ago and just getting an idea of Livecode and RR. So what happened to the developer? It looks to me they've happily acquired my payme...

Re: List of iOS Apps Created with LiveCode Inspiration Threa

Wow great stuff everyone! This is becoming a good list of apps already and I am inspired by this :D This next few weeks I'm going to start to draft up some plans for my own app and see how it goes. I'm sure it's going to take a lot of work but I know LC already makes it easier than coding it out in ...
