Re: How can I important Yahoo weather RSS Feed into LiveCode
Thanks again that worked just fine This might seem like a really dumb question but I'm stuck on something which should be so simple I've now gotten everything to display perfectly, now I'm trying to do something useful with the data I'm trying to put some key values into variables like Temperature, ...

Re: How can I important Yahoo weather RSS Feed into LiveCode
I've managed to get every single field working and displaying on the screen now except the two for Lat and Long <geo:lat>51.51</geo:lat> <geo:long>-0.13</geo:long> I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong for those two. Neither of these work put revXMLAttribute( tRSS, "rss/channel/geo", "lat") into field "...

Perfect that worked .. ThankYou so much.CoffeeCone wrote:Try replacing "rss/channel/condition" with "rss/channel/item/condition".
That's because <yweather:condition> is under <item>

Re: How can I important Yahoo weather RSS Feed into LiveCode
I think I spotted a slight error in the code - every time I ran the script it said the temperature was 3C in London which didn't seem quite right So when I looked at the code it seems to be giving the wind Chill factor as the outdoor temperature. I thought it was an easy fix, so just created a new b...

Re: Will LiveCode make all other programming languages obsol
Based on the sample the book looks like it will be good, although the sample pages cut off just at the point where things get a bit harder, so you can't quite judge. Most of the stuff I'm interested in happens around chapter 5. I know you're not supposed to judge a book by it's cover but that truly ...

Nice website but as it grows it would be nice to have a search box
I'm a newbie to LiveCode so right now learning by looking for scraps of learning material all over the internet
Anything that helps me find those scraps is welcomed.

How can I important Yahoo weather RSS Feed into LiveCode?

Re: Creating an Alarm Clock App for Android Phone / Tablet
Well it's ok for now if it can't run in the background Another reason for choosing an Alarm Clock is it's one of the few Apps I'd prefer to use in Landscape Mode, so I can design the App in Landscape mode which fits on my 1080p Monitor - my Samsung Galaxy Note is 1280 by 800 pixels so anything in Po...

Creating an Alarm Clock App for Android Phone / Tablet
I'm new to LiveCode - only been using it since it went OpenSource. I thought for practice I'd try and create something useful that I'd actually want to use each day, so I thought have a go at creating a very simple Alarm Clock App that might run on my Android Phone. Are there any Tutorials, or sampl...

Why have I only just found out about LiveCode?
There's one question that's been nagging me about RunRev and LiveCode .. why did I only ever find out about LiveCode 3 days after their KickStarter campaign ended? From what I've read RunRev has been going for 10 years and I've spent at least the last 2 to 3 years looking for something like LiveCode...

Re: Did we just Sherlock MobGUI?
... Anyways I've just spent the last few hours looking at either buying a new monitor with more pixels and the ability to rotate 90 degrees to help develop Apps for Phones or simply a desk clamp that I can attach my existing 1080p monitor to and rotate that 90 degrees.

I'm confused.... Is the above post supposed to mean something?
Is this some kind of message only seasoned LiveCode users would understand?

Re: Did we just Sherlock MobGUI?
Am I right in think LiveCode USED to support Bada?Perhaps in the days when it was called Run Time Revolution? I'm sure I saw a screenshot of it somewhere online. if it's true then my question would be ... why would anyone want to support Bada before supporting Android? .. I'm hoping I just dreamed u...

Re: Did we just Sherlock MobGUI?
Support for decent looking Mobile Phone Interfaces will be very important to LiveCode's future success. I'm a total newbie to LiveCode, so from a newbie's point of view I find the MobGUI website very confusing. I think if you want a website to be easy to follow then it should be designed to work in ...
