Tip using LiveCode with Sublime Text 2
Forgive me if this is common knowledge. Despite the "cool kids" not liking it any more, Sublime Text 2 is my fave editor for HTML and CSS. I work on both OS X and Windows web servers, and Sublime Text 2 is identical on both platforms. I've started using it with my Livecode Server scripts, and discov...

Re: Native-looking settings on iOS
tmControl2 looks good also. I bought Monte's external for settings and it's exactly what I needed for this problem. But I'll probably go ahead and pick up tmControl2 this afternoon. Are the graphics optimized for retina?

Native-looking settings on iOS
If you launch Apple's "Settings" app on iOS 7, you see the typical list of items with an icon to the left of each item and gray lines separating them. You also see a ">" at the end of each line. Touching a line makes a new screen slide on top of the old screen. The Notes app works the same way. Is t...

mobilePick with long list
I'm using mobilePick in an iPad app to display a list with 11 items in it. In the simulator, the list pops up with the native iOS look, but it only displays lines 1 - 8. If you touch the list, you discover you can scroll down to the last three lines. But this is bad because it doesn't give the user ...

Re: Translucent UI?
I'm pretty sure it's supported in XCode - They talk about how to use it in the iOS Human Interface Guidelines on the developer site. I'm thinking I would rather just do something different rather than try to fake the real thing - I don't think I can fake it well enough to fool people...

Translucent UI?
I am beginning the process of updating my app (HAT by Cool Classroom Software) to look more "native" on iOS 7. One of the new features of iOS 7 is the translucent window that displays your settings in a nifty way - think "Control Center" on an iOS 7 iPhone. I know LiveCode can spoof that, but I'm wo...

Re: iOS Simulator 6.0 issue
I started this thread and never got back to it! The problem ended up being what CALL-151 suggested - Once I removed the app from the simulator, it would open again. So if this were a support forum I would say thread closed, case solved.

Translate!
I am looking for a way to translate a text field from spanish to english in LiveCode. Apparently it used to be possible to do this via Google Translate and a shell script, but Google put the kibosh on that. So I'm wondering if anyone has any other ideas? If I can figure out a solution I promise to p...

Re: Animation Question
OK, so I've run some tests on the iPad 1, and you're right, sturgis - both work just fine. What I am actually doing is making a shooting gallery type educational game with three rows of ducks, moving in alternate directions, and three different speeds, and the ducks are three different sizes. If tha...

Animation Question
I am making a math practice game in which numbers move around on the screen in an animation loop. Each number will appear on the screen from one side and travel across the screen and off the screen on the other side. Here's what I'm wondering - would it be better in terms of CPU performance to use a...

Art Question
My old partner Chris and I had two apps in the App Store, but Chris got hired by Apple, and part of the deal with working for Apple is that you don't make and sell software on the side. So we had to pull the two apps and I was able to put them back up under a new company name, because Chris left the...

Re: iOS Simulator 6.0 issue
Thanks - I will go grab the latest version. The stack in question opens fine in the 5.0 and 5.1 simulators. It's just the 6.0 simulator that won't open it. I'm going to go ahead and update my app in the store, I guess. The version that's in there now works fine, except the screen size is wrong on th...

Re: iOS Simulator 6.0 issue
Attached is the stack... As far as I can tell, I have taken everything out of the stack - every graphic, every script, every card. It's empty. And it won't run in the simulator. It has to be something about the file, maybe? But it's not the only one - I have two other stacks for the same project. On...
