Klaus, is "karmacomposer" the one who doesn't pay his bills?
And then he's really asking here about more input of ideas and thoughts from others?
Why don't you simply inform his superiors about that?

Yes.
And on the mailing list, too.

It was HIS company, so no superiors, just an imaginary companion named "Steve".

Ya know, I find it kind of ironic the screen name chosen. considering the definition of karma -
karma
n.
The totality of a person's actions and conduct during successive incarnations, regarded as causally influencing his or her destiny.

karmacomposer, can you please reply to Klaus in PM or email so we can keep support forums focused on providing support?

I have chosen to keep quiet about this - but the fact is, Klaus over-charged us and took advantage of us - we never authorized that kind of money and the last $400 we supposedly owed, we decided to pay when we decide to. To date, we have still not made any money on our technology because it has taken this long to finish it. When we make some money, we will likely pay Klaus just to put an end to this.

I wonder if it is a good idea to "air one's dirty linen" in public in this way?

Depends on whose point of view you are looking from.

If you develop for other people on request, your probably thinking it is a GREAT idea to see who pays and doesn't in an open setting.
If you want to skate on your bills, or don't develop for other people, probably it seems a little tedious.
If your just in to lurid on-looking, it makes good television :P
If your the developer that got skated on, then this is probably the best way to attract attention to a situation that should never have happened to begin with.

A deal is a deal after all, isn't it just?

I went back to that first thread posted about this deal. Richmond, you were absolutely prescient about the whole thing

Hi all,

very sorry about this, but please read my explanation below.

Mr. Felker preferred to play "dead man", means he did not repsonse to my mails.
Now I took the chance on the mailing list and here to remind him of his debt,
but as you can see, no cigar.
Klaus over-charged us and took advantage of us - we never authorized that kind of money
and the last $400 we supposedly owed, we decided to pay when we decide to.
I did of course no overcharge then, they had no oversight about the work at all, see below, so they
just hired me without knowing what I would do for them, not that I surprised them and told them
what I would do BEFORE I did it, and did not want to pay later.

But they did not say they would NOT pay me, instead I had to read something like this in every mail:
-----------------------------------------------
AUGUST:
Your next invoice will be paid on Sept. 7th...
-----------------------------------------------
SEPTEMBER
I did not know about remaining 11 hours. (sic! No word of over-charging, just pure ignorance.)
Split it in half as two invoices please. ## Which I did, no cigar.
We will be sending you $100 on Friday and the rest we will make up ASAP.
-----------------------------------------------
We have been waiting (and waiting) for our investors to put money in the bank and they are taking forever to do it.
As soon as they do, we will pay you in full the remainder we owe you.
-----------------------------------------------
Steve told me you will be paid in full on Friday. It was a large mixup with his employer over not getting paid.
-----------------------------------------------
OCTOBER
$150 is coming your way this weekend. I just need to get together with Steve to get the money.
Steve told me he will get you most or all of the last payment this week.
Steve told me he will get you most or all of the last payment this week.
I'll ask Steve. I believe he will get you paid before the holiday.
Steve says in the next 10 business days we will be able to get you current.
I'll ask Steve if he can send $50
etc. etc.

And then suddenly silence until I read his posting on the mailing list and even here, but I hope my bahvior is understandable.
I am frustrated about no being paid but maybe even more about Mr. Felkers cheekiness to post and also ask for help here.

P.S.
As I wrote in the "Deveolper Service Marketplace" I made a lot very generous proposals
like payments by installments and whatnotall, but he did not show any will or attempt to pay a single cent!

And yes, sorry, I also hate to do this here, but this is the only way to get in contact with him, he stopped to answer
my mails earlier this year, if someone has a better solution or proposal for my dilemma, I am all ears!

I think the method you choose is both understandable and acceptable.

Maybe an additional topic in this forum about developing for third parties is an idea? Within that topic 'What to do and what not to', experiences, advice and possible complaints can be shared related to working for others? Just an idea .....

'We' and with that, I mean all regular forum users/visitors know you (Klaus) to be a man of honor and of great assistance, and we understand your predicament and reasons. So I personally hope you will, at last, get your $400,- cigar!

karmacomposer, I appreciate your candor, but like the others here I agree it would be best to resolve this in private correspondence with Klaus.

If it would be helpful to have a mediator keep the conversation productive, I could assist with that. It's a role I've been invited to take on with much larger issues than this one.

Either way, now that you two are talking I trust you can find a way to settle the matter outside of these support forums.

I already tried "to resolve this in private correspondence" with Mr. Felker some time ago, and I was really generous.
But this is "moot" if one party just does not want to "talk" means "resolve" the issue at all, read does not want to pay.

And out of a sudden, now I am the villain, too funky...
