Sample Games and Scripts

Post by Newbie4 » Sat Jul 27, 2013 7:08 pm

I just uploaded a number of programs that were written by high school students (ages 13 to 17) using LiveCode. They range from games (action games, mazes, edu. games, 2-player games) to apps (calculators, word processors, etc). You are welcome to play with them and look at the code for learning purposes.

To download them when in LiveCode, click on the "User Samples" icon in the top Toolbar. Then do a search on "high school" (all lower case, no quotes). There you will find them. Keep in mind that, in most cases, the students had only 1 or 2 weeks to do them. They are not necessarily finished products. They were just means to learning computer programming concepts, how to program and even have some fun.

I will be adding more over the next week including a chat server and a server/client that allows 2 players on different computers to play TicTacToe.

You are also welcome to visit the class website: http://www.tinyurl.com/erhs-lc for more examples and ideas for games. I will be adding more content and improving the lessons before school begins again.

I had intended on putting more samples of my student's works on the LiveCode site but there is a file size limit. So some of the ones with great graphics never made it.

Shaosean was kind enough to volunteer space, so I am putting them up at http://erhs.shaosean.tk instead. I have put 43 games up there so far and there are more to come. They are very creative and fun to play.

Check them out for some ideas or just to learn how to do different things. You are free to download them to play and the LiveCode to see how they were done. Check them out.

Some of them will put a smile on your face.
