Seems the direct link to the site didn't come through in the original post, so here it is:

Hi,

Normally, we don't write titles in all caps. You might want to change this. Capitals are considered shouting and are usually not appreciated in forums on the internet if used abundantly like in the title of this thread.

That said, it is a good idea to start a Spanish community. Particularly in South America, LiveCode seems to be relatively unknown and a Spanish community might help to spread LC in this part of the world. Good luck.

I don't think anyone could be offended by that title! A message would have to have a fairly aggressive style combined with all caps for anyone to feel it was an attack. These forums have a pretty relaxed feel - well - most of the time :P

I hope the new community is a success!

I didn't say people are offended by it, Splash! Just that one shouldn't use all caps in a title. It is not what we do in this forum.

Kind regards,

Hi,

Sure, but that doesn't mean that one should shout everywhere. You might think that this particular subject should be announced in all caps, but someone else may not agree, e.g. because other people don't even speak Spanish. The next person thinks that his product it worth shouting about, but then you and I may not agree. The third person may think that lost kittens are worth shouting about and then it will be too late to do something about it. Let's keep the forums neat and organised.

Kind regards,

Mark

A bit melodramatic

The forum moderators here do a pretty good job of keeping everything neat and tidy.

Well, I don't agree with you and I never said that the moderators don't do a good job.

We don't usually have taglines in a large red font in this forum either, but no one has said anything about it.

¿Cualquier persona tiene cualquier pensamiento en el foro de la Español-lengua sí mismo?

Me impresiono cómo él lo pone al día con frecuencia. Él parece muy confiado.

I apologize for the snarky post, Mark. I was temporarily overcome by the irony. Just as explanation, I mostly read the forums in digest form, and your tagline is rendered there larger than the subject headers. On my tablet, it overruns the width of my display. So your comment about "shouting" triggered a reaction.

Hi Jacque,

I didn't realize that my signature might look big or somehow strange on a small screen. I changed it this way, mostly because there were people including big banners in their signatures and because the possibility to include links was removed. I'll see if I can make the appearance of the text a little smaller and perhaps less obtrusive.

Kind regards,

Mark
