FIX THE DAMN BUTTONS

Post by mwieder » Wed May 29, 2013 9:34 pm

OK - THIS IS GETTING REALLY ANNOYING (NOTICE THE CAPS?)

SOMEBODY NEEDS TO FIX THE BOARD SETTINGS SO THAT THE BUTTONS (CODE, QUOTE, ETC.) WORK AGAIN.

Most of the mods here have limited ability to make changes on that level. Have you written to Heather?

Yeah, I realize that. Just needed to vent. I haven't written to Heather directly, but Klaus has. I assume either David will get on this or Neil will when he gets back from his honeymoon, but this has gone on for many weeks now.

Fixing the buttons is on a request list of fixes and working its way to the top. It will get done. We are aware of the issue. I apologise for the delay. Please be patient.

Regards,

Heather

Thanks, Heather. I *have* been patient. For weeks. "Fixes"? This wasn't broken before. Is this in the category of "if it ain't broke, fix it until it is"? Anyway, it's good to know someone's going to be on top of this.

A LiveCode button would be cool. Maybe with colorizing and indenting. But, of all the many things that might be fixed or cool things that might be done, this should be low on the list. If it makes the list.

@Dar- that's what the "Code" button is for. Or would be if it still worked.

I've learned to type

Code: Select all

and that should stick to my brain for a few days.

Maybe I should have left off "maybe" from the formatting/colorization. That is, I imagine a LiveCode button as being for not some generic code but our code. I suppose that could be done in the Code button. The column on the right says "[img] is ON", which might be a hint to an alternative way to display colorized code. Or maybe some LiveCode plugin can make the codes from a selection in the script editor.

(I need to go ask my grandkids about @<name> in forums.)

@Mark -- I think I see what you mean. There is a BBCode button to the right when I'm filling in this form. I clicked that and it explains that the syntax for specific code formatting is part of Code. There is a place to add that there. One can specify the language in the code block. Even so, once that is implemented, it would be a small step to add a button. I'm guessing.
