stack resizing

hi,

is there any resource/in depth tutorial with regards to stack resizing, do's and donts, what kind of image format to use, techniques, geometry etc?

Like is there a certain base size? ive created an app(with datagrids, images, lists and all) which i've specifically created for 1024x768 (7 inch) tablet
and now the user wants the app to fit in a 5' tablet, now everything is messed up, as the dimensions of my app far surpasses the resolution of the new tablet

any help would be greatly appreciated.

btw, i have viewed the ticked off app, resizing works great for images but how about images that are not part of the resources substack (eg:background-images) ?
