Screen capture of App Market Template on an Android phone:
The App Market Template works well in the IDE but does not use the Mobgui controls. It would be useful to have a Mobgui version to make it useful to develop mobile apps quickly.

Re: App Market Template (app2market)
Hi Newtronsols,
What you have suggested is a great idea. The App Market template was created to give you the ability to quickly design layouts for your applications. You will still be able to use mobGui elements in conjunction with the template.
It also seems like you have deployed the full template to the simulator as the card in the screenshot you have taken is not something you would really want your user to have access too
We will soon be introducing a theming element into LiveCode which means any LiveCode controls created, will automatically look correct on the platform they are deploy too.
Kind Regards,
Neil Roger

Hi Neil,
Regards
Just curious to know if that "theme" thing is still in the works. Multiplatform look-and-feel was a very strong point in Livecode when applied to Mac OS, Windows & Linux; but now it's broken when applied to the mobiles. We will soon be introducing a theming element into LiveCode which means any LiveCode controls created, will automatically look correct on the platform they are deploy too.

Hi Fjord,
Theming, for all platforms, is scheduled to be part of the LC 8 lifecycle and its development is we under way.
Until theming is available you will still be able to use one of the many theming plugins available (e.g. mobGui, tmControl etc) or manually skin your stacks components. A basic rundown on skinning can be found in the following lessons-

Re: App Market Template (app2market)
Where do I find theming plugins, apart from mobGui which is in the "Extensions" part of the site? Can't find anything apart from mobGui.
Is App Market Template (app2market) downloadable? from where?

François Tarpin
