Hi All,
In Lubuntu Linux, using the Backdrop seems to bring instability to
the IDE. I have not tested if this holds true for LC Linux Standalone.
Could anyone verify this?
Open LC 7 dp4 and show the Backdrop from the menu
or from the message box:
set the backdrop to "140,30,30"
Keep working in LiveCode and told us if LC locks or responds fine.
Please post your the version of your Linux OS, too!
Thanks in advance
Al

Re: [LINUX] LC 7 dp4 Backdrop instability
I just tested LC 6.6.2 rc4 on Lubuntu 14.04 and here the backdrop seems stable but incorrect:it opens fine, but obscures any desktop manager panels I have in place, similar in effect to what we see on Ubuntu when we tell LC to "hide menubar".
What did you find?

Could you test the Backdrop with LC 7 dp4 or dp5?FourthWorld wrote: I just tested LC 6.6.2 rc4 on Lubuntu 14.04 and here the backdrop seems stable

LiveCode stops responding while the backdrop
is enabled.

Same result with 7dp5.
I did, however, file a report on the backdrop covering LXDE's panels:

Are you using LXDE? Anything else installed which may account for the difference between what you're seeing and what I'm seeing?
